"That's interesting" is something my family has said for years! It started when a family friend told us she would say that when someone asked her opinion of something that she didn't care for. Love it! And I find myself taking frequent breaks during the day to reboot my mind. I like working later in the evening when things are quieting down. That must be my flow...

Thanks for shedding light on this simple truth Andrea! My husband is always reminding me to take a break and refresh myself. And I admit I'm severely guilty of "5 more minutes" syndrome. But stepping away can work wonders for your mindset and your imagination. Everyone deserves that time and space ... all we have to do is take it.

Love this, Andrea. I, like you, have pretty much mastered the productive energy. This girl knows how to get things done!! However, I have a really hard time coming down and being in the flow. Since I have had my yoga and meditation teacher training, I am doing better. Each morning I have an hour and a half Sadhana with yoga and meditation, which helps me get into the flow. However, once my three boys are up, all that tends to turn into productive energy. I am still a work in progress. I find the flow when I can. Your article has inspired me to find it more often. Thank you!

Beautiful article Andrea - and I LOVE your expanded definition of FLOW. It truly is a BALANCE for sure. Fluidity is one of my favorite words - I just love what it represents. Great article....thanks for sharing your LIGHT...xo

David, I love hearing that! And I agree, being in the flow is about losing yourself doing something you care about!

Hi Andrea - I like your idea about flow, and subscribe to Flow as the ultimate state of engagement, maybe even the main goal in doing anything. I describe Flow as "losing yourself doing something you care about" and follow Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's lead on its description and how to achieve it: clear challenging goals you have the opportunity to focus on and skills to actually achieve, that sense of timelessness and selflessness. I love it. I'm in it now.
